I HATE GOODBYES!

"After all we've been through, is this how things will end?"

"Hello world..." was the first utterance we were to see on those monitors of ours. Maybe this simple utterance was a sign of what technology could do, or it was a mere attempt to break the chains men stringed onto these devices; who knows? But one thing is for sure: there's no way we can run away from its impacts, and thus we should adapt."
Hello, everyone. I've come to give you all my last goodbyes after making a few important remarks. (I don't want any tears! 😭) During my time in the ICT course, I've learned a lot, and by that I mean nearly everything about how to effectively use technology in education. The course was pretty much in line with the thoughts I had in mind about language learning, though there were major differences. One of them was my belief that video games are the most effective items to be used for teaching languages. They are good sources for experiencing authentic language and for active engagement; however, after taking the course, my perspective started to shift towards a more inclusive understanding. I come to realize that it is not only through action-based materials that we can ensure language development, but also by making use of a structured body of pedagogic materials like podcasts, digital stories, etc. To further elaborate on this matter, I can clearly say creating podcasts, either to share personal remarks or to talk about field-related matters, is pretty much helpful, and I certainly enjoyed podcasting when I was given the task. To point out some of its benefits, it does not only contribute to students' vocabulary development but also provides them the chance to proactively prepare unique materials, which play a pioneering role in developing communicative competence. I will surely resort to such a source in my professional career (if I say, "I will," I will). Another thing I want to mention here is my thoughts regarding all of the assignments given to me so far. They all were overall engaging, and I allocated a good amount of time to each one of them. But to be frank with you all, I mostly enjoyed creating a digital story, for we were quite autonomous in the way we prepared our storyline. The effort we put into voice acting and trying to convey the intensity of the moment were those remarkable moments I cannot seem to forget about (good old times). BUT THAT ONE ONLINE COLLABORATIVE ASSIGNMENT, that PUNIC immigrant, was the one that I hated the most. How come can you expect 3 people to meet on common ground about their ideas of a movie??? It is utterly INSANE! Jesus Christ...

ANYWAYS!

The course itself looks pretty much sufficient, and I do not have any recommendations to progress it further.

"See you all in another journey!" thus said Arda Işık.
